Uhuru Kenyatta Officially Declared Winner of the Kenya Presidential Election 2013

Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, the son of Kenya’s first President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta has become Kenya’s new president and the fourth person in Kenya’s 50th year of independence to hold the post.

The announcement was made by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson on 9th March 2013.

Total Votes Cast 12,338,667

Registered Voters 14,337,399

Turn Out 86%

Uhuru Kenyatta  – Jubilee 6, 173, 433

Raila Odinga –  CORD 5, 340, 546

Musalia Mudavadi  – Amani – 483, 981

Peter Kenneth  – Eagle  – 72, 786

Abduba Dida  -ARK – 52,848

Martha Karua  – NARC – K 43,881

James Ole Kiyiapi – RBK – 40,998

Paul Muite  – Safina – 12,580
