5 Killed at Nairobi Prayer Rally 13th June 2010

5 people were killed and many in injured in a stampede caused by two explosive devices in Uhuru Park Nairobi – Sunday 13th June 2010.

Thousands of Kenyan supporting the “No” stance on the forthcoming Referendum on the Kenya Consitution in August 2010 had gathered at Uhuru Park in Nariobi, Kenya (Kenya’s capital city). The “No” group are not opposed to Kenya having a new constitution but wish to seek amendements –especially concerning the existence of the Kadhi Courts.

In Lucas Barasa, John Njagi and John Ngirachu article in the Nation 13 June 2010 “Five Dead In Nairobi Blast” report the explosions took place after the rally had concluded and a Nairobi preacher was conducting prayers. End
