Zimbabwe Farmer Axed to Death – The Star 8 July 2009

Peta Thornycroft’s article in The Star 8 July 2009, Harare: Zimbabwe Farmer Axed To Death – A director of Zimbabwe‘s Commercial Farmers Union, Bob Vaughan-Evans, was axed to death at his home on Friday night.


Vaughan-Evans was in his late 70s. He was killed on the eve of his wife Jean’s 80th birthday.

Tanzania was ranked at 70 in 2009 and was in the “In Danger” category and has consistently outperformed its fellow East African neighbours. Rwanda also achieves a more positive ranking than Kenya and Uganda.
