Global Democracy – Spain General Elections 8 March 2008. The people of Spain go to the polls to elect a new parliament.
The key contenders are the Prime Minister (who is also Head of Government) Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and his Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) and Mariano Rajoy’s People’s Party (PP). There are approximately 33.5 million registered voters in Spain. Source: IFES 2008
