An article by Wachira Kang’aru 'Budget On Stability' The Nation 13 June 2008 is a reveiw of Kenya Finance Minister Amos Kimunya’s Budget 2008 speech which extended a ‘hand to the poor’ as he removed import taxes on rice and wheat.
Kenya’s Road Minister Hon Kipkalya Kones MP Bomet (ODM), Assistant minister in the Office of the Vice- President Hon Lorna Laboso MP Sotik (ODM), pilot Schnerr Christopher and Constable Kenneth Bett were killed in air crash on the afternoon of 11th June 2008.

The 11 June 2008 Kenya Parliamentary and Civic By Elections passed relative peacefully. Five Parliamentary constituency seats were contested in conjunction with approximately 53 civic seats. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) retained Ainamoi, Wajir North and Emuhaya constituencies but lost Embakasi and Kilgoris to the Party of National Unity (PNU).

The Electoral Commission Of Kenya, has announced the following information to all registered political parties in Kenya. By - Elections for Kilgoris, Wajir North, Emuhaya, Embakasi and Ainamoi constituencies together with 53 Civic Wards will held on Wednesday 11th June 2008.
