WFD’s programme in Kenya aims to strengthen civic and political engagement in a multiparty democracy
WFD has worked in Kenya since 1993 supporting a range of civil society organisation projects. WFD support has focused on strengthening media, support for the constitutional review process, voter education, civic participation, gender relations and human rights. The UK political parties were engaged with local political parties in the lead up to the 2002 elections, and this positively supported democratic processes.
