Royal Media Services is the home of Citizen Radion and approximately 8 vernacular (ethnic) langauge Radio, one TV station and a tabloid called The Citizen. It appeals to the grass roots.
The nine radio stations are unique as they communicate to Kenyans in their vernacular lanaguage. They radio brands are: Citizen Radio (National), Ramogi FM, Inooro FM, Mulembe FM, Muuga FM, Musyi FM, Egesa FM, Chamgei FM and HOT96 (a radio station targetting young upward mobile Kenyans).
Citizen TV has proved also popular. Their focus has been on radio which 98% of Kenyans have access to, unlike the Nation Media Group and The Standard Group who have invested heavily in new media.
