Failed State Index – The Fund For Peace has published 5 Failed State Indices the latest being the 2009 Index. Kenya’s score has placed it 14th out of 177 countries just below Burma and is in the “Critically Failed State category”.

Tanzania was ranked at 70 in 2009 and was in the “In Danger” category and has consistently outperformed its fellow East African neighbours. Rwanda also achieves a more positive ranking than Kenya and Uganda.
