Daily Nation – Kenyan Reaction to the US Presidential Elections
Submitted by William Ang'awa Wednesday, 5 November 2008
The Daily Nation in Nairobi is a good source of information to gauge Kenya’s “finger biting” reaction to the US Presidential Elections.
‘Big parties planned in the US and Kenya to celebrate Obama victory’ is an article by Macharia Gaitho in Illinois, reporting on the preparation within the Kenyan community and the African migrant community within the US who (may be prematurely) hoping for a Barack Obama victory.
Macharia Gaitho’s Opinion article ‘The Kabugas of Kenya Will Have No Where To Run,’ compares the maturity of the US Electoral system to Kenya’s and the frustrating possible political compromise concerning the WAKI Report which recommends a tribunal to bring to book the instigators of the Kenya 2007 Elections violence.
